This will not make sense to many of you... but if you ever crewed an aicraft, you'll be delighted. It may have some interest for other military maintenance types as well - but bears no relation to NASCAR
Read and enjoy!
Warning: Contains crude language, but all in all pretty tame by Crew Chief standards
JETS!!!
OMG that was great!! ~LOL~ I will have to send this to some cousins and friends who are/were in the Air Force....they'll howl with laughter.
It's funny because it is oh so true!
Oh, I can believe that! ~LOL~ I used to date a Security Policeman at Langley AFB (VA) and he used to tell me some stories from when he had flight line duty.
I love security cops and I'll tell you why.
Imagine a nuclear generation (it's an exercise to load live nukes on an aircraft. The exercise involves 12 hour shifts (plus another hour or so for turnover on both ends) and a lot of work under time critical conditions. Now imagine said exercise taking place in Minot AFB, North Dakota, on mid shift, in Juanuary. Temp hovering around -30 deg F or so, wind chills -65 to -80 (it was -105 wind chill one night but that's another story)
It's miserable, but there was always one guy who had in worse than I did. The poor damned cop who had to stand guard at the nose of the aircraft (B-52 G models) for the entire 12 hours after it was nuke loaded
LOL Simba!!! Yeah, that would suck, wouldn't it?
i worked B-52's at Barksdale. Even though it would get unbearably hot in summer I dreaded the idea of maintaining in N. Dakota.
